The sailing class meets up at Dinghy's Beach Bar on Water Island in St Thomas, USVI. Take a van from Cyril E. King International Airport to Crown Bay Marine and hop on the Launch to Water Island. Book your flight to St Thomas to arrive Sunday afternoon. Our yacht is on anchor off the beach bar. Relax on the beach in the afternoon, we will depart from there in the morning. Our trip will take you to a different bay each night in St Thomas and St Johns.
We return back to Crown Bay Marina on Saturday at 12 noon.
Book return flight no earlier then 2 pm. Please provide your flight information. No passport required.
Instructors /Captains have over 10 years sailing the Caribbean and have completed ocean passages from the US to foreign ports.
Have fun and get a nice tan while learning to sail our Dufour 43.
Our seven-day trip is aboard S/V Marissa, a 43' sailboat with all the comforts of home. You and your crewmates will take charge of the boat under the supervision of your Captain-instructor. You will spend 4-6 hours everyday sailing. The course includes 2 of the following ASA certifications: 101, 103, 104 ,105 or 106. Beginner sailors (BK 101) will receive additional refresher sail back at our New York location in the Spring.
Your instructor will teach you all the fundamentals and basics of sailing of which include tacking, jibing, anchoring, and docking. The curriculum also includes man-over-board drills, charting and plotting, use of safety equipment, engine maintenance and other mechanical systems on the boat. By the end of this trip, our main goal is for you to have full confidence in yourself as a sailor.
At the end of each day, the boat will anchor giving you time to go ashore swim, and relax. Be sure to bring snorkel gear to see the fantastic underwater sights.

Life Aboard the Marissa.
The boat becomes your home... that you share with a group of people who quickly become family. This is the most valuable part of the experience because it deepens everything else. Our yacht has four cabins, three double berth and one with bunk beds. The salon and galley are shared areas. Like camping, space is limited but comfortable. Cabins for singles are grouped by gender and sleep two. You could even sleep under the stars on the main deck!
