Class held every weekend from May through September
No previous experience necessary.
* This is a three-day course offered on weekends -- Saturday and Sunday, plus the following Saturday from 9:30 to 5:00 pm each day.
*Three of the weekend classes run from Saturday to Monday instead due to the holidays, Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day.
* Also available are three classes held during the week (see class schedule) or suggest your own dates during June or September for three or more students.
The first day of this ASA 3-day course begins in the classroom followed by on-the-water instruction for the remainder of the course until the written exam. A half hour break for lunch each day. Our years of experience teaching have proven that learned control and time on the water creates a confident sailor.
This course includes:
16 hours instruction plus 8 hours of practice sailing.
Three students per boat (subject to change).
Solo sail after completing the class.
Textbook and American Sailing Association certification.
A fleet of day sailboats to sail, after completing the course.
Successful completion of the BK 101 course results in ASA certification. If you have difficulty, no worries; we will give you additional help to meet the ASA requirements.
Free Bonus! After you've successfully completed the course, return for 2 free 4-hour (9am-1pm) 23-foot boat practice sails. It is important to practice what you've learned within two weeks after completing the course. It is best to sail with the newbies that just completed the course not with people who know nothing about sailing.
Need someone to sail with after the course? Just ask, and will be glad to refer you to other sailors after you complete the course. Don't be fooled by other schools that don't allow you to sail their boats after completing their sailing class.
