Port Sailing School partners with Echo Bay Yacht Club to race with all other clubs on the Long Island Sound. The Laser and Feva race team is the strongest group of sailors that we have. They compete in local regattas with clubs from near and far, with the largest being Larchmont Junior Race Week. Click "Apply" to receive more info.

Four Weeks: $3,795

Session 1: June 30 - July 25

Session 2: July 28 - August 22

Basic Info

  • Ages 12 – 16

  • 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

  • 22 Pelham Road, New Rochelle, NY 10801

  • Application is necessary but only in rare cases will applicants be denied

Aditional Expense

  • JSA – LIS membership (required to participate in regattas)

  • Regatta fees (vary by event)

*PSS will front these costs and add to bookings later on

Student Requirements

  • 12 years of age

  • Can swim 50 yards and pass a swim test while wearing a PFD

  • Over two years of sailing experience

  • Confidence on single and double handed boats

What To Bring

  • Water

  • Sunscreen 

  • Hat

  • Sunglasses

  • Towel

  • Life jacket (USCG Type III) – we provide if you don't have

  • Rain jacket 

Safety

We provide all safety equipment for sailing, including a USCG-certified Type III life jacket and an emergency whistle. Sailing can be dangerous due to the nature of being on the water. Our instructors are trained to teach and protect children; everyone holds a US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 instructor certification. Furthermore, all instructors are certified in CPR and first aid. On average, our instructors have four years of coaching experience and ten years of sailing expierence.
